Check route and event eligibility
Insured value is associated with a specified parcel and its selected service. Review the applicable events, insured amount, premium and maximum compensation in the current offer. A route can support some conditions and exclude others; do not assume universal coverage.
Read exclusions before paying
The listed exclusions include recipient-related address or collection problems and failures to cooperate with clearance. Product damage is separate from the covered insured events; check the exclusions carefully. For fragile contents, review suitable packing rather than assuming insured value covers breakage.
Keep the records needed for a claim
Retain the parcel reference, purchase value, shipping payment and tracking. Forwarded goods can require proof of value. Depending on the event, carrier or customs confirmation and photos of damaged exterior packaging may be requested. Contact support to establish the required evidence.
Verification comes before settlement
Submit the event details and requested evidence through support. Confirm the applicable conditions and verified outcome for that parcel. Multiple events do not automatically add together, and an estimated claim amount is not a confirmed payment.
Match the offer to the risk you want covered
Identify what concerns you about the shipment: loss, a particular transit event, clearance or physical damage. Read whether the offered service covers that event for the selected route. Pay attention to exclusions, the maximum amount, the evidence required and the application procedure. Adding an insured service without this comparison can leave your main concern outside the actual coverage.
Keep the terms shown for your parcel and the amount selected at purchase. Do not rely on a screenshot of a different route or an older community explanation. For forwarded goods, check what purchase evidence will establish value. If the terms are unclear about an event you consider important, ask for clarification before paying for the service.
Keep the insured amount and purchase records consistent
List the goods actually included and retain their order and payment records. Separate product value, international freight and service charges rather than assuming every payment forms part of a covered amount. Read how the offer defines value and any compensation limit. A selected figure cannot replace the proof that may be needed to verify a claim.
For example, an order with several garments may be split across two shipments. Keep a separate value record for each parcel instead of attaching the full order amount to both. This is a recordkeeping example, not a rule about a specific offer. Ask how to document combined orders, discounts or forwarded items if the current service does not explain them clearly.
Preserve useful evidence when something goes wrong
Keep the parcel reference, route, service selection and tracking history together. For a relevant delivery incident, retain carrier correspondence and any requested confirmation. If the exterior arrives damaged, photograph its condition and keep packaging while clarifying the applicable process. Avoid discarding evidence before support has explained what is needed for the event you are reporting.
Contact support promptly with a factual timeline and ask about the applicable submission deadline. Describe what is confirmed and what is still uncertain. A delivery gap alone is not proof of loss, and photographs of a damaged carton do not establish that the particular insured service covers the damage. Submit the evidence requested for the actual claim category.
Track the claim separately from the parcel
Record when you submitted the claim, what evidence was requested and when you supplied it. Keep any carrier investigation number as well as the Sugargoo case or parcel reference. If information is missing, ask what would satisfy the request. Repeatedly sending the same incomplete material is less useful than resolving the specific gap identified by the reviewer.
Read the final explanation and distinguish a proposed amount, an approved amount and a completed payment. If you need clarification, refer to the relevant term and the evidence for your parcel. Keep shipping and receipt decisions accurate while the claim is open. A claim does not automatically extend collection deadlines, remove clearance obligations or change the parcel’s delivery status.
